Jacob Assel’s surrealist collage piece, The Times, perfectly captures the feeling of a cool, wet evening in New York city, complete with slick city streets and city dwellers steeling themselves against the elements. His piece also achieves his personal objective of creating “powerful and dramatic images that leave viewers’ eyes lingering and minds wandering.” We’re captivated by each perfectly placed collage piece, including the eye-catching collaged displays on the marquees (Times Square, anyone?). A student of New York City’s High School of Art & Design, Jacob often chooses experimental subjects and mediums to challenge his abilities. This talented student artist’s piece was submitted by his teacher, James Harrington.
We’re thrilled to include Jacob’s piece among our library of inspiring student art. Sax is proud to share artwork created by students in elementary, middle, and high schools around the country on our catalog covers and social media channels.
