The colorful ferries of the famed New York harbors shuttle locals, tourists, and everyone in between to and from Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, and beyond, providing unparalleled views of the city skyline, the Statue of Liberty, the Brooklyn Bridge, and countless other iconic New York sites. Student artist David Tiburcio managed to capture a quiet moment at the harbor in his acrylic-on-canvas piece titled Landscape. David is a senior at New York City’s High School of Art & Design, where he is majoring in illustration. His piece was submitted by his art teacher, Ms. Maria Jimenez.
David’s work joins an inspired library of student art featured by Sax over the years. From elementary school artists to high school students, we’ve highlighted dozens of impressive student pieces created in mediums ranging from pastel and chalk to watercolors and acrylics.
