Created using Prismacolor colored pencils, this stunning piece by student artist Jonell Aban is aptly named Solitudinem. With precision shading and an exquisite palette, Jonell perfectly captures the solitude, beauty, and danger of a single succulent flower. Jonell’s piece was submitted by Paula Plobo, her 12th grade art teacher at Sheldon High School in Sacramento, CA. This year Jonell will continue her art education at San Francisco State University, where she will be pursuing a career in art.
Jonell’s work joins an inspired library of student art featured by Sax over the years. From elementary school artists to high school students, we’ve highlighted dozens of impressive student pieces created in mediums ranging from pastel and chalk to watercolors and acrylics.
