Dry Erase Tables and Desks
Worn out table and desktops get a new lease on classroom life with Post-it Super Sticky Dry-Erase Surface. Writing on the desks and tables is no longer a “no-no” with this durable, writable, cleanable surface. Start by cleaning each table top and desk you wish to cover, then measure the amount of dry-erase surface you will need. Cut the appropriate amount, peel off the backing and stick. Use a dry cloth to smooth out any bumps or bubbles that may be present. Dry-erase tables promote collaboration, and dry-erase desktops get students working and writing more quickly than having to get up from their desks and retrieve a dry-erase board. And if covering the entire student desktop is more than you need, simply cut the roll into smaller sections the size of a normal piece of paper and affix that to one side of the desk.
Dry-Erase Daily Activity Board
Use Post-it Super Sticky Dry-Erase Surface to brighten up the side of a metal cabinet and use it for a “Daily Activity Board.” This board can be used to outline the students’ day, list specials and the names of the line leader, group captains or any other classroom jobs students have on a daily basis. And since it’s on the side of a metal filing cabinet, you can also move colorful magnets to appropriate activities as you are doing them. This helps kids stay on task because a glance at the file cabinet lets them know where they should be and what they should be doing.
Dry-Erase Handwriting Practice
Apply Post-It Super Sticky Dry Erase Surface to a small chalkboard. Hang the board in a place where it can be eye-level with your students. Keep two or three dry erase markers in the chalk tray, and use the board for handwriting practice throughout the day. Draw lines that represent the lines on a piece of paper, and position a handwriting example chart above the board. Allow students to use the board at any time when they have completed their work and have a few minutes to wait until the next activity to practice writing letters. You can also choose a word from that week’s spelling list and write it on the board for students to copy. This helps with both spelling and handwriting.
