School Specialty® and the College Football Playoff Foundation® (CFPF) share a common goal to improve educator resources and provide children with better learning opportunities. Both organizations support this mission through CFPF’s Extra Yard for Teachers® program. Recently, we headed to Haddon Avenue STEAM Academy & Magnet in Pacoima, California with tools and supplies to create a new mariachi room!
Learn More: School Specialty and CFP Foundation Makeovers
The Haddon Avenue STEAM Academy & Magnet is an ETK-5 elementary school in the Los Angeles Unified School District. Haddon’s vision is to “create a challenging and empowering learning environment, enhanced by a focus on a STEAM-centered curriculum.” Alongside a robotics program that supports this vision, they also have an award-winning mariachi program. School Specialty and CFPF are proud to support this vision with a new mariachi room to build their collaboration with the community and help students realize their greatest potential.
This mariachi room transformation is just one of over 50 collaborations between School Specialty and CFPF across 13 states. School Specialty and our Projects by Design® experts worked with the school to design a space to best support their needs. Our goal is to complement the school’s programs and style of teaching with a contemporary space that drives outcomes.
With everything from instrument storage to music stands and 360-degree swivel chairs, this unique learning space is just one more step in School Specialty’s mission of Transforming More Than Classrooms.
