Our spirits are lifted by Alexandra Scheel’s colorful batik Rainbow Zebra! With a plethora of vibrant colors, this pair evokes happiness and light and it’s no surprise. Alexandra created this artwork when she was a 9th grader at Hollidaysburg Junior High School in Pennsylvania. She sees art as a means of self-expression and a way to “show emotion and feeling.” Alexandra has definitely accomplished that with this piece, and her art teacher, Barbara Wertz-Leiden, agrees.
Sax has featured inspired works of student art on our catalog covers for years. From Alexandra’s piece to watercolors, oils, and mixed-media pieces from students around the country, we’ve featured dozens of amazing student-art pieces by artists in elementary school all the way through high school.
