It’s a jungle out there! We went wild for Arianna Chiapetta’s art submission, titled Richard Parker. Inspired by the Bengal Tiger of the same name in the best-selling novel and blockbuster movie The Life of Pi, the piece was created when Arianna was an 8th grader at Pleasantdale Middle School in Road Burr Ridge, IL. Arianna’s pastel and chalk work shows incredible attention to detail and captures the intensity of an animal in wild. Arianna’s teacher, Dianne Washburn, agrees, noting that Arianna is a creative artist with unique ideas and the ability to work in any media.
Arianna’s work joins an inspired library of student art featured by Sax over the years. From elementary school artists to high school students, we’ve highlighted dozens of impressive student pieces created in mediums ranging from pastel and chalk to watercolors and acrylics.
