Art teacher Caroline Cook is roaring with pride over her student, Tyree McBeth’s, cover piece, Luscious Lyon. The Patterson High School senior from Baltimore, Maryland, created the lion on scratchboard, and then used Adobe® Photoshop® to add color. The result of this two-part process is this fiercely realistic depiction of the powerful king of the jungle.
Tyree’s artwork joins and inspired collection of student art featured by Sax over the years. From elementary school artists to high school students, we’ve highlighted dozens of impressive student pieces created in mediums ranging from pastel and chalk to watercolors and acrylics.
