In early 2015, the Fort Worth Independent School District in Fort Worth, TX recognized that the cafeteria furniture in its schools was worn, outdated and in need of replacement. The District partnered with School Specialty, a leading distributor of supplies, furniture, and both curriculum and supplemental learning resources, to source modern cafeteria seating that would upgrade the student experience. School Specialty provided two tables from manufacturer Sico for the District to evaluate. After utilizing and testing the tables, the District selected the Sico product as the solution to their needs.
Glenn Headlee, Director of Child Nutrition at the Fort Worth Independent School District, commented, “The Sico tables stood out for us because of their compactness and mobility. They easily fold up for storage, and when they are folded, they can fit through standard size doors. These tables have attached seating as opposed to individual chairs, providing a much easier way to store and maneuver them. Our cafeteria also serves as an auditorium, so it was important to us to be able to quickly and easily rearrange the tables for various uses. They are the perfect size to fit anyone from pre-K students to adults.”

The order for the Sico cafeteria tables was the largest that we have ever place with School Specialty, and the product has been a success at all 70 schools in which it was deployed.”
