Grab your snorkel and dive deep into this colored pencil piece created by student artist Peyton Krueger when he was an eighth grader at New Richmond Middle School in Wisconsin. Prior to creating Underwater World, Peyton was only interested in graphite. As an eighth grader he went out of his comfort zone and, as a result, expanded his ability to create using color. Peyton’s new favorite medium is colored pencils! He plans to practice his artistic skills at New Richmond High School. Underwater World was submitted by Peyton’s art teacher Allison Johnson.
Peyton’s piece is one of many inspire works of student art to grace the Sax catalog covers and social media channels over the years. We’ve been honored to feature sketches, watercolors, acrylics, and mixed media pieces from students ranging from elementary school through high school—you can find them on our Student Art Pinterest board.
