School Specialty® and the College Football Playoff Foundation® (CFPF) share a common goal to improve educator resources and provide children with better learning opportunities. This mission is supported by both organizations through CFPF’s Extra Yard for Teachers® program. So with tools in hand, we headed to College Hill Fundamental Academy in Cincinnati for a modern media center makeover!
College Hill Fundamental Academy is a community learning center in the Cincinnati Public School District. This unique magnet school pairs traditional academics with complementary project and service-based learning. Through activities such as fieldwork and case studies, students explore how to apply discovery, inquiry, critical thinking, problem-solving, and collaboration to real-world situations. We’re proud to provide this media center makeover and help College Hill achieve its mission “to educate all students to meet their full potential by giving them the tools to carve out their own destiny.”
This open and inviting new space gives our students and educators an environment where they can learn to love reading. Not because they have to, but because they want to.

The new media center marks the 47th makeover collaboration between School Specialty and CFPF. Since 2015, our partnership has completed learning environment upgrades in 32 school districts across 12 states, with more on the way!

School Specialty and our Projects by Design® experts worked with the school to design a space that better supports their needs and drives outcomes. Our goal is always to complement the school’s style of teaching and learning with a contemporary, welcoming space and flexible seating options from our Classroom Select® proprietary furniture line. This new learning space will inspire teachers and students to collaborate, learn, and grow, and is just one more step in School Specialty’s mission of Transforming More Than Classrooms.
